Don't you love a good story? On plot, dialogue and character development

July 04, 2018 5 Comments

People who are at least a little bit familiar with my amazon comics, will know that most of my stories are more than just wham-bam female bodybuilder muscle and domination action. Indeed, I love to write longer stories that have an actual plot, and in which we can see the characters grow and develop both physically and mentally, get into conflicts, and experience different things, basically like a character in a novel. To that extent, many of my comics are similar to graphic novels.
While I appreciate every customer and any purchase that a customer makes, it therefore always pains me a little bit when I see customers skipping certain episodes in a series, or even just starting in the middle, and not reading the first or first two episodes. They seem to think it's not so important to follow the whole plot or the development of the character.
Of course some people may have a limited budget for my comics, and only buy the products that look the most attractive. I can totally understand that, and they do what they want, of course. But I just think that really developing the amazons' character makes for much more sexiness and excitement. Build-up adds depth to characters, makes it easier for us to understand them, and above all, makes them much more real and therefore realistic. And that's important for excitement.

There's also something great that happens when things are being foreshadowed, but that you have to wait a while to get there. Before the big confrontation that you are hoping for, there may be more subtle things or signs that can be oh so sexy.
Take, for instance, the Katie series, which is my longest series to date and spans a period of multiple years (both in terms of what's happening in the series and in terms of my producing it). From pretty early on, when Katie's father Hank objects to Katie going to the gym and working out, it becomes clear that there will be, at some point a confrontation between Hank and a by then much bigger Katie.

But it doesn't happen right away. Before that, we see Katie lifting heavier weights than her dad, or her being able, at a very young age, to pry open a jar that her father is unable to open. We also see Katie getting more and more dominant in her thoughts and actions, and that makes the actual facing of her dad, and what she does to him later in the story, much more realistic.
katie puts her dad's head between her thighs
The same can be said about Katie's relationship with George Drooney, a celebrity who has every reason to be very assertive and confident. Katie is not taken aback by him, and takes the lead.

Bottom line: I hope you appreciate the effort I put in plotting, writing, dialogue, character development, and that you experience yourself how these add to your overall excitement and pleasure when reading my comics. (but if you just want action, there's plenty of that in my comics as well, of course).

A fine picture at the top of this question; the lady asking the man if he has had a lot of experience with that. And him answering with some, but with no one like you. Is this picture from one of your stories? It’s a good one. One of the appealing things about your stories is the variety. There is something for almost everyone.

Agreed. You’re telling stories, and half the fun is in the dialogue and brief moments that pay off bigtime when a Stilton brawny babe really starts womanhandling her man. Or men. Story development is foreplay, and every bit as important.

Great blog James! I do appreciate the story and the development you put into your comics. It definetely makes it more engaging and easier to get invested and therefore it is easier to get excited at what is going on in the story. I must admit though I am otfen guilty of buying comics mid-series. I do this mostly for budgetary reasons and in trying to get the part that I, knowing my tastes, will find most satisfying. It could be because of the amount of exposure of my favourite character in a particular story or how tender the woman appears to be or whatever.

However when I am invested from the beginning like with Stepmom it’s really special. Just as you said in your post it’s that development that makes it so interesting. I’m in a place where it feels like no matter where the story goes I’m excited and I’ll be satisfied because of that development. I’m geniunely nervous whenever Jennifer does something like if she were real I’d be nervous around a 7 foot tall woman but at the same time I’m enamoured and curious at the kind of person she is. I really can’t say enough good things about it, it’s truly splendid.

Anyway I’ve been a fan of your stories for a while and have always appreciated the development from way back when I did that short essay on Amber and Julian and Majorie’s feelings towards Julian (still really conflicted about thi btw lol). I felt this demanded to be analysed and I felt the same thing again with Stepmom (and some other stories I’ll get around to reviewing).

Great work man!
